Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception
During the month of July as America celebrates its birthday, America's Catholic Television NetworkTM will feature programming from America's Catholic Church, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
While cities and towns put on their fireworks shows and display the red, white and blue to celebrate Independence Day, CatholicTV puts on a month-long celebration of “shows” from the Basilica to display its beauty, sanctity and reverence. The mission of the Basilica is to be a place of worship, pilgrimage and evangelization. Our hope is Catholics worldwide can take a virtual pilgrimage to worship at the basilica and continue CatholicTV’s mission to evangelize through the power of today’s media.
Enjoy a new three-part mini-series hosted by Archbishop Donald Wuerl of Washington, DC, called “Gospel in Mosaic” as he continues teaching of Christ using the domes of the basilica. Learn more about the basilica with Kevin Nelson’s two-part Catholic Destinations. Pray the Glorious and Luminous with Father Reed at the basilica every Sunday and Thursday. Enjoy a rebroadcast of Pope Benedict XVI’s visit there last year throughout the month.
